As we stated in our last piece, “We anticipate with bated breath her proverbial firepower unleashed — momentously,” VP Sara is now making the clever move with her announcement that her father, FPRD, and her two popular siblings are all running for the Senate.
The 3 certainly constitute a political powerhouse triad that is bound to command hordes of following. Veritably, the trio is an overwhelming inspiration; it epitomizes the quintessence of unity — father and sons have agreed in unison to empower principally the Mindanaoans and Visayans who are considered victims of lawlessness and poverty borne of massive government corruption, and to pursue the wish of their very flesh and blood, the onetime independent and self-sustaining VP Sara and their very own once aloof family matriarch. Erstwhile in total disharmony, this family has magically come now to unite and act in unison to repel the trampling of their dignity and that of the people they have sworn to serve and protect as their constitutional mandate.
This brand of unity conjures an image of power and force so irresistible as to catalyze the people to rally under it and to surge forward like an unrestrained rampaging tsunami. As she obviously planned, VP Sara will precisely ride on this unity to launch her political war. Clever indeed she is.
More cleverness. She declared in an interview, “Ang sabi ng mama ko, babalik daw ako sa pagka-mayor ng Davao.” There is more than meets the eye here. To us, this statement was intended to disabuse the minds of the people that when she goes to them to unleash her tirades and swing at the people’s tormentors, she does them not to seek power for power’s sake, or gratify hunger for power for power tripping that may be perceived from her as the incumbent VP, since her mother — it must be noted —is relegating her to just the mayorship of Davao. Being the VP, her moral scruples dictate this ethical concern, which her old man, FPRD, more so viewed as a weighty concern. See this stark honor in this woman VP. But her mother had the wisdom of resolving her predicament. Thus, hereafter, she should be taken only as wanting — in service to the people severely oppressed in law protection and in funds accessibility — to battle the lawlessness and ineptness of the Palace, the unbridled power seekers in the officialdom, and the massive corruption in the government — the very breeders of hunger and poverty among the masses.
And whether the grand political plans of her father and brothers and her mother (for her) will obtain or not eventually, it will not matter. For then she would have succeeded in her political quest as the people rally behind her — for the country’s sake.
A scenario that exhibits political astuteness!
