The Truth Must, At All Costs, Prevail

By: Atty. Marlo T. Cristobal

Byron, l just watched your latest vlog, “Duterte makakauwi na dahil Kay Imee?”, and, true to form, you unleashed your trademark that has kept your vlogging career in good stead over the years—your solid logic and your unmitigated adherence to the truth.

As a Christian, never back down from the truth. In fact, it is your clear duty to “Shout it aloud. Raise your voice like a trumpet.”  (Isaiah 58:1). Bulldoze your way to the truth, undaunted who gets hurt. It is a Christian high and noble duty to enlighten specially the fool and the naive, the witless and the dimwit, the clueless and the ignorant, the countless amongst us (the very people God chosen to shame the intellectually dishonest, 1 Corinthians 1:27) —in the name of truth. And in your usual language level and style they fully understand and identify with.

Expect others, intelligent and intellectual they may be or pretending to be, with impure hearts and selfish or dishonest intentions to mount their hatred and malice against you, but to hell with them. Be fully consoled that the truth will prevail as God preordained. (See King James version of Proverbs 12:19)

Logic is one basic tool our courts of law invariably use to arrive at the truth. In a set of circumstances, apply logic and you arrive at the truth. In your repeated vlogs’ example, when you arrive at a locality from a dry environment, and you see the roads and the houses therein completely wet, you conclude it must have rained in that place. That’s logic. And that’s the truth.

While the adage argues everyone is entitled to his opinion, it does not, however, guarantee the words of truth are holding on. Satan, the father and author of lies, may yet still be cleaving and reigning sovereign in such a situation. But amidst the clatter of opinions, always, a truly honest man knows  the truth when he hears it, for God has written the truth in our hearts, and our conscience is ever vigilant to convict us. (For proof read Romans 2:15).

No one has the monopoly of truth. Absolutely. I know very well that you never insinuated, much less made, this claim. You stand out—somewhere else. You trumpet loudly the truth in a manner so scathingly bold, unconcerned who gets hurt and unconcerned of the risks you face—legal and illegal ( such as those your lawyers and l are grappling with now).

But go ahead proclaim the truth as God wishes, through your exercise of the constitutional mandate of full free speech that the sovereign people deeply wish in their desperation to survive the country’s precipitate march to perdition.

Go full throttle ahead with the truth, and damn the torpedoes. May God bless you.
