I have no reason to withhold what is intended for the people. During my few years as a congressman in Davao, particularly throughout the pandemic, my office has been actively providing assistance that surpassed the support given by the current administration. Additionally, I have personally contributed to these efforts by giving from my own resources.
Contrary to any claims, my office has never stated that the DSWD lacked funds. On the contrary, it is our office to which the DSWD has halted/stop fund disbursement. We have transparently communicated this to the people of Davao City and expressed our regret over the situation.
There is no black propaganda involved in this, Madam Congresswoman.
You are all aware of the present circumstances; this is not fake news! You can confirm this through the official records of the DSWD. It is evident now that certain offices and politicians are being favored. It is now evident that the allocated funds intended for the people are being utilized for political purposes. This malicious intent also aims to undermine our credibility with the people.
What I am simply asking for is that if our intention is to assist the people, let’s do just that. Let’s set aside political agendas because the people are in genuine need of assistance, and the elections are still far. I cannot recall, Madam Congresswoman, any instance where you were mistreated during my father’s tenure, despite the challenges we faced at that time.
Once more, I respectfully plead us to fulfill our duties and responsibilities diligently and prioritize serving the people.
To my dear Davaoeños, considering the substantial and huge PBA funds available, I strongly encourage you to reach out to them for support with your medical and financial needs.
Those funds rightfully belong to you, the people, they are your resources and yours to utilize prudently for your welfare!Â
